The Ephrata Fair has been a tradition in Lancaster County since it first took place to appreciate military veterans coming home from World War I. This fair makes the farmer’s festival one of Pennsylvania’s oldest, dating back to 1919. It was then that locals added their harvest celebration, which is now known globally for its uniqueness and beauty – making this event stand out as no other can compare with its magic moments. When fields come alive under golden sunshine or soft rain-soaked night skies above you, fireflies dance around, trying to distract them even further away until darkness falls.

The Ephrata Fair is a one-of-a-kind experience for area residents. The chill in the air signals it’s time to head out and enjoy this annual event that brings together friends, family members, or just by yourself with your thoughts on an old rollercoaster ride through history.

The Ephrata Fair is a showcase for all that Pennsylvania has to offer in terms of agriculture. The biggest street fair celebrates everything from sweet corn competitions and pie eating contests with rides available at your own risk, or you can enjoy the show from home.

Visit the Ephrata Fair and enjoy family-friendly activities like displays, prize-winning animals (and other prizes), and tractor competitions. You’ll also have access to some fun commercial opportunities, such as displaying products or services on our beautiful fairgrounds – all in an atmosphere full of immersion in local history.

Ephrata residents are proud of their community and celebrate it during the annual fair. They enjoy sharing these festivities with visitors from near or far who admire Ephrata agriculture, livestock including poultry, goats, sheep, swine, dairy, beef, and much more. At this vegetable exhibition, locals can showcase what they’ve got in terms of crops at an art contest where artists enter annually for prizes worth bragging about.

Fat Albert the Rat was a popular attraction at Ephrata Fair for many years. Fat Albert the Rat still brings in visitors from near and far to this day. From 1970-2007, he would spin a wheel while people guessed his color. But since then, it has been retired for him but not without bringing some fond memories with them.

When the sun sets at Ephrata Fair, it is replaced by some of its most unique attractions – live entertainment and agricultural displays. In addition, the midway offers carnival rides for all ages and delicious food, including BBQ pork chop dinner Tuesday in Tent City.
