The Kauffman’s Distillery Covered Bridge is a county-owned and maintained wooden bridge that spans Big Chiques Creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania near Manheim. With the addition of steel hanger rods, the bridge is designed with a single span and double Burr arch trusses as its structural elements. It was built in 1857 by James C. Carpenter and rebuilt by Elias McMellen in 1874. This local area was erected by the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners and is now operated by generations of the Kauffman family.

The local covered bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places around 1980 and contributed to the covered bridge historic district in the Lebanon Valley. It is one of only four remaining covered bridges in Lancaster County and the only one that remains open to vehicular traffic.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the creek and the nearby distillery while crossing the bridge. It is open to pedestrian traffic as well. This location is one of the most well-liked tourist attractions in the region. The crossover is renowned for its distinctive architecture and being one of the state’s only covered bridges. One of the most excellent examples of a covered bridge still in operation is this one.

Tourists to Kauffman’s Distillery Covered Bridge can enjoy scenic views of the creek and the surrounding countryside. The bridge is also a popular spot for photography and a popular destination for weddings and other special events. The site is open to the public during daylight hours. It is also known for producing small-batch whiskeys and other spirits. Visitors can tour the distillery, sampling some of the products along the way.

The community has a long history of spirit production, dating back to the days of the Revolutionary War. The distillery is housed in a renovated 19th-century barn and uses traditional methods to produce its products. In addition to tours and tastings, the distillery also offers a gift shop and a tasting room where visitors can purchase products.

If you are ever in the area, this is a must-see stop. The experience is like no other, and the view is breathtaking. There is also a distillery on-site where you can purchase some of their small-batch whiskeys and other spirits. The Kauffman’s Distillery Covered Bridge is a must-see spot for anyone visiting the area.
